In the book the reader will find both personal commentaries and recollections of Claes Gustafsson as well as essays that take specific aspects of his own work and present their own interpretations. The subject matter of the chapters ranges from meditations on Marx and frivolity, through business ethics and gifting practices, with a quick detour through ancient philosophy (with a helping of sophistry), and back to project management. Topics also include Diderot, corporate social responsibility, small talk, decision-making and the philosophy of technology. Somehow, they even manage to encompass the thorny issue of James Bond's relationship with snow.
The volume seems to be all over the intellectual playground but it is a befitting plurality, perfectly attuned to honor a thinker who has never let stale and dogmatic taxonomies get in the way of the pursuit of truth. The book may be sprawling, but so is the mind and the work of the person it is inspired by.
